Dogs By Design Bathhouse & Salon was first opened in 1995 in my home in Penn Township.  Following my dream of helping animals, I attended classes for both Pet Massage and Reiki in 2002.  In 2003, I relocated to Harrison Avenue in Jeannette and became DOGS BY DESIGN……Pet Salon & Day Spa,  the first full-service pet salon & day spa in the area.  I have since attended advanced canine massage classes and am currently not only a canine massage practitioner, but a certified instructor as well.  We now offer holistic grooming, massage, reiki, massage workshops, canine couture, and nutritional products as well as nutritional counseling and super-premium pet food and have blossomed into

Imagine my excitement when I got a call from Kelly Frey of channel 4 news in Pittsburgh about being featured on her segment called 'Conveniently Green'!  Kelly came out to talk to me and film a short segment about the all-natural, environmentally friendly products I use in my spa.  Windy, owned by Tammy Catalano, was our model dog for the segment.  Several other clients came by to share their thoughts about why the natural products I use are important to them for their pets.  Anne and Carl Plieskatt brought their two standard poodles Caesar and Ryka, and Kelly spoke with Anne about the products used on their pets.  Leann Storey came by with Mindy and shared her story about Mindy's previous skin problems.  Mr. Pluck stopped by to share his thoughts with Kelly about what we do for their cat Sasha, but unfortunately didn't make it into the segment.

When your pet enters the salon, he/she will be escorted to the bathing room for a bath as well as any spa services you may choose.  After the bath, they are dried completely by hand and then brought out to the grooming area for styling.  Once completed, they are adorned with your choice of bandana, bows, nail polish, cologne, etc. and are then ready to go home.  Most small pets are ready in 2 hours or less.  Each pet receives timely, personalized service with no express fees charged.  Your pet becomes a part of our Dogs By Design family and is treated as if it were our own!
